The mission of Perry Players Community Theatre is to ignite a passion for the performing arts, by educating, nurturing, and empowering performers. Our History

Perry Players Community Theatre was founded by a group of dedicated individuals in the early 1980s.

1980 - 1991

Perry Players Community Theatre company was founded during the early 1980s as a repertory company in the Perry area, producing anything and everything from sketches, skits and one acts, to full-length dramas, comedies in schools, studios and recital halls and venues. Our founders' vision was to offer high-quality entertainment and cultural activities to the citizens of middle Georgia and to foster opportunities for both budding and seasoned performers and designers throughout the area to practice their talents and grow in their craft. From these humble beginnings as an amateur community theatre, we continued to grow and soon needed a building to call our own.

1992 - 2022

With the support of innumerable patrons, benefactors and businesses within the Middle Georgia area, our founders purchased our theatre building at 909 Main Street in 1992. Built in 1902 and located in beautiful historic downtown Perry, our vision for class, excellence and growth continues today!

We strive to promote and nourish community spirit through the arts by providing an outlet for individuals to learn and grow in the theatre arts and offer mutual support and encouragement to individuals and other cultural arts groups. We offer the opportunity for members of our community to participate in all facets of the theatre, whether it be enjoying the production from the audience, performing on the stage, running the lights and sound, designing or building sets and costumes, or volunteering at the Box Office.

Our theatre holds an intimate one hundred and seventy-seat audience, and we produce a full season of well-balanced theatrical entertainment and education for the whole family year-round.

From humble beginnings of building sets and props out of our own garages, our founders had a passion for the arts that sparked a legacy that is still growing today. Our community theatre could not exist without your past, present, and continued support. So we hope that your enjoyment of our productions has been and will continue to be repayment of your faith and support of Perry Players.
